Our History

:: OUR HISTORY ::

Kempsey Presbyterian Church was established in 1884. Its first building was located on Smith Street, Kempsey, and remained there until 1984. In 1984 the church building relocated to Rudder St.

Church at the Rocks finds some of its roots with a small group of worshippers who met together at South West Rocks every Sunday. With the help of Kempsey Presbyterian, this small group grew to form a congregation in South West Rocks.

:: A PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ::

We are Evangelical and Reformed (i.e. Presbyterian). We believe the Bible is the highest authority in all matters concerning faith and life. Our subordinate standard is the Westminster Confession of Faith. For more about what we are all about please see Mission, Vision and Values.

:: OUR SERVICE ::

Each of our congregations gather to worship on Sunday morning. Our services are family-friendly. We begin our services with all the adults and children together. After singing and a kids’ talk the children go to a kids program. The service includes prayer, Bible reading and an engaging Bible talk. It all finishes in about an hour and everyone is welcome to stay for morning tea.

We are also involved in a number of ministries, including growth groups, Scripture in schools, and ministering to those in prison and their families.
